ABOUT ME 

Hi my name is Lida, I am 18 years old and I am currently spending one year in Thailand. I am spending my time as a volunteer in Phayao in the north of Thailand. I work as an English teacher and help the local students communicate in English. It has been an exciting and fun time even though there have been some challenges. Having the chance to get to know Thai culture in the last month has been really fun and I enjoy being able to spend time here. 

MY EXPERIENCE

The first month of volunteering has given me lots of new impressions. I love going to the market and I enjoy meeting with the students in my free time. The students and I continue to learn from each other, and I enjoy learning something new every day. I am grateful for all the experiences that I have got to make in the last month and look forward to all the coming experiences in the next year. 

THE SCHOOL 

I work at the RPG 24 school in Chun, Phayao. The school is located in the north of Thailand, near Chiang Rai. The school is a big school, where students from the 1st to 12th grade are taught. A big percentage of students are from hill tribes that are near the school.The schoolgrounds are spacious. You can find a Café and a small market can also be found inside of the school. On the schoolgrounds you can also find a small lake in which some say that alligators live there.The school is in a small village that has many small restaurants and is surrounded by beautiful nature. The teacher and students are very kind, and make all six of us volunteers feel welcomed and comfortable.
