Looking back on my 10 months as a volunteer in Khon Kaen, Thailand, I can honestly say that it was an experience I will never forget.
The beginning was not easy. Adjusting to a new culture, finding my way around the classroom and taking on the responsibility of teaching children was quite challenging. There were plenty of difficult days, moments of uncertainty and lessons that definitely didn't go as planned.
However, with time, things started to change. I became more confident, learned to deal with different situations and slowly grew into the role of a teacher. What initially felt like a difficult responsibility eventually became something I genuinely enjoyed. I learned a lot, not only about teaching, but also about myself and what I am capable of when I step outside my comfort zone.
Now it's time to head back home, take a little break from this chapter and start thinking about what's next. First, some work to earn money, then hopefully more travelling and new adventures. And next year, another exciting chapter begins with university.
Ten months, countless memories, plenty of challenges and a lot of personal growth. Thailand, it's been quite a ride. Thank you for everything!
