Heartwarming Reunion: Former Volunteer Nadja Returns to RPG 24 School 

PHAYAO, THAILAND — Ratchaprachanukroh 24 School (RPG 24) in Phayao recently welcomed back a familiar, beloved face: Nadja, a former volunteer teacher assistant during the 2024–2025.

Now a first-year university student studying Tourism in the Netherlands, Nadja returned to visit her former school, bringing back fond memories, warm smiles, and impressive language skills.

A Journey of Personal Growth

Reflecting on her time in Thailand, Nadja shared how profoundly the experience transformed her life. Before joining RPG 24, she described herself as exceptionally shy and terrified of public speaking. However, stepping into the classroom as a teacher's assistant pushed her out of her comfort zone, building her confidence and helping her find her voice.

That life-changing experience inspired her choice of study. Realizing her newfound passion for connecting with people across cultures, she decided to pursue a degree in Tourism back in Europe.

Showing Off Impressive Thai Skills

During her visit, Nadja demonstrated that her connection to Thailand remains as strong as ever. To the delight of local teachers and students, she still writes and reads Thai with remarkable fluency. Standing in front of the whiteboard once again, she effortlessly wrote out Thai vocabulary words—including โรงเรียน (school), นักเรียน (student), ครู (teacher), แม่ครัว (cook), and sweet phrases like ฉันรักพ่อแม่ (I love my parents) and ฉันคิดถึงเธอ (I miss you)—earning proud smiles and enthusiastic thumbs-up from her former colleagues.

Once a Volunteer, Always Family

Between sharing meals with teachers and stepping back into the familiar classrooms, Nadja’s homecoming was a touching reminder of the lasting bond between international volunteers and local school communities. RPG 24 Phayao remains incredibly proud of Nadja’s journey and wishes her all the success in her university studies!
