1st Month (Introduction)

"My name is Luke and I am a VSA/Grenzenlos volunteer at the International College of Thaksin University (TSU-IC) in Songkhla, Thailand.

My first month has been nothing short of incredible. Everybody welcomed me with open arms, and I quickly managed to get settled in.

Due to my arrival time at the end of the semester, my work-related responsibilities have been limited as students were either occupied with exams or away during the break.

Nevertheless, me and my co-volunteer have already started a basic German and B1 English class for willing Thai and International participants. I was also able to join other faculties, namely HUSO and Economics, for some activities they organised in late September. Among them was a field trip with the Economics department to plant trees and learn about local agriculture.

I am very much looking forward to November when the third volunteer will arrive and the next semester begins, and there will be more activities to do!"
