Kiki and I on the way to our Project in Mae Chaem. Not knowing what lay ahead was exciting and a little scary but we were very happy.
The next month we explored not only our village but also different places in Thailand. So here is a short recap of a few places we visited.
We visited the waterfall near our village with our friends we met during the first weeks. We hang out almost everyday. Trips like this feel especially beautiful because we do them together.
Also the field trip with our students has a special place in my heart and we had a lot of fun together. We visited the highest place on the Doi Inthanon and the Tempel of the Queen and King.
During our October holidays we traveled around Thailand with the other volunteers. We visited Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Bangkok and Hua Hin. We learnt a lot about each city, the culture and the people and had a lot of fun exploring the different city’s and it’s vibes
When we came back it was the Loy Krathong festival. It felt especially close and special because we spent it in our village with our friends. We let the Laterns rise, builded krathongs with our students and let them fload into the river.
We celebrated Christmas in the church where people from all the villages around Mae Chaem visited and performed a dance on the stage. We also exchanged gifts with our friends and at our teachers house. The school did a Christmas celebration too. We danced, played with our students and had a lot of fun.
I spent the beginning of the new year with Kiki, Ludwig and the family of our guest mum which made it especially beautiful. We watched the few fireworks and Laterns at the river and played card games.
The sports day was also a special event and extremely fun. We had a parade in the morning with all the different teams. We celebrated, danced and played a lot of games together with the students
But apart from all the trips we make I mostly just enjoy the daily time I spent with the students, my friends and especially Kiki. They make everyday special and exiting.
Because of them I look forward to the next months, where I wanna see more of Thailand, get to know more new people and learn the Thai language more.
