My experience in Songkhla, Hat Yai Tailand was one of the most special moments of my life. I arrived with the hope of learning about a new culture and sharing what I know, but I never imagined how much I would receive in return.
At the school, teaching the children was an amazing experience. Even though we didn’t speak the same language, we always found a way to understand each other through smiles, gestures, and small attempts at English or Thai. They made me feel welcome from the very first day.
The teachers were also incredibly kind. They supported me every day, helped me adjust to the school, and made me feel like part of their team. Living with my host family in Hat Yai made my experience even more meaningful. They opened their home to me and treated me like part of the family. We shared meals, simple conversations, and everyday moments that I will always remember. I learned about their customs, their way of life, and their culture in a close and genuine way. Even when communication was difficult, there was always patience, understanding, and kindness.
The floods, the weather changes, and the cultural differences were challenges, but they also taught me to adapt, to be stronger, and to appreciate even more the hospitality of the people around me.
Songkhla gave me lessons, friendships, and memories that I will carry with me forever. I leave with a grateful heart—for the children, for my host family, and for everyone who made this experience unforgettable.
