Thailand: The manifesting is becoming true
Hi everyone, I am Vidya, a girl from Indonesia who is very passionate about education. I've never been abroad before, but when people asked me where I want to go, “Thailand” is my answer. I don't know why, but here I am. My first overseas trip was my dream, in Thailand.
Okay, so this is my story. Starting from the hectic preparations in Indonesia, I even had to do several things at the airport when going on the way to Thailand, and finally I arrived here, VSA Learning Home. I don't know what I'm going to do next, but what I do know is that I'm going to have fun. The first day of teaching, we were picked up by Kru Pen in her white Honda Civic. She took us to her school, Ban Kuan Khob. On the way we asked her to take us to buy food, and she was the first to introduce us to our favorite food, HatYai fried chicken. At school, we spontaneously teach English vocabulary using games and songs and then in the afternoon we have lunch with the students in the hall. We were at this school for two days. The students at this school are very smart and active, they have fun with us. Good students.
For two full weeks, we taught at the second school, Ban Kao Rang. The first impression we got was that most of the teachers were still very young. Teacher Haris always guides us as a translator, while Teacher Huda always provides amazing food for us. The students at this school are very curious, we communicate using Google Translate. For two weeks, we taught English, of course in a fun way, and helped teachers for the sports competition the next week. Not only students, but we also had fun at this school. I even got my Thai name from students at this school, "Nam Fa" which means “water from the sky” and I will always use this name when I visit Thailand again someday.
Ah, on Saturday, 13 July 2024, we also visited Thanksin university where we meet some Thai students. We had a presentation about our culture, did some games and visited Songkla Old Town. We went to the old town with “Tuktuk” and we had soo much fun. The students are nice and helpful. It was a very pleasure to meet them.
Let's move from school life to everyday life. Like getting a new family, Pi Que's Aunty invited us to do aerobics when we first came here. Apart from that, Pi Que's mother always cooks very delicious food for us, every day. Pi Que also always takes us wherever we want, waterfall, temple festival, water reservoir, Sunday market and etc. They provided the best place for us and welcomed us warmly. Also we have Uncle Rat, the one who opened my eyes that education is even very important for everyone, even he himself, who is about to 60 years but still love to teach and learn. Send my greetings if you meet him please I admire him a lot! Like what I manifested, not only did I visit Thailand, but I gained an unforgettable experience and family. Thank you UNNES (my university), Dejavato and VSA for bridging me and my new experiences.
