Storytelling September

The first month In Thailand was filled with a lot of emotions as we found ourselves in a completely new environment. It wasn´t one memory that made these first weeks special. Rather the month as a whole. We attended the preparation seminar for the first week and walked around the school in our free time. It was a good opportunity  to get a glimpse of how things are working here at Rajaprajanugroh 24 School. Our caring teacher “Nui” took us to Chiang Rai on the first weekend. We got to see beautiful temples and the “Walking Street” in the evening. My favorite place was the Wat Rong Khun, also called White Temple. The beauty of that temple is simply unique. As the semester holiday just started shortly after we arrived, the teachers prepared a plan for us until the new semester starts. It contained language classes, cooking classes and many more activities. Furthermore, we got in invited to teach at another school for some days. It was a great opportunity to gain some experience before starting to teach at our own school. On the weekend we went to more places in the are around Chiang Rai with some teachers from the other school. I am more than thankful to them for showing us around this beautiful province. By the end of the month, we went on a trip with all the teachers from our school. The three day trip included a day at the beach in Chanthaburi province, visiting a temple and eating lots of seafood. It was a fun experience and helped us to develop a stronger connection to the teachers. While many things remained new for me I got used to life in Thailand more and more and September will be a special month for me when I look back after this year.
