Rajaprajanugroh 65 Phattalung School, located in Phatthalung Province in Southern Thailand, operates under the welfare education system to provide free, comprehensive education, meals, and board for underprivileged children. The school supports students from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds, including those affected by social hardships, family disruptions, and economic vulnerabilities across the region.
Serving students from primary through upper secondary education, the school is dedicated to bridging educational gaps and offering a safe, nurturing learning environment. Located in a region with rich local traditions and cultural diversity, Rajaprajanugroh 65 School plays a pivotal role in equipping youth with practical life skills, functional literacy, and moral grounding to help them break cycles of hardship and build sustainable futures.
The InterCultural and Language Project at Rajaprajanugroh 65 Phattalung School aims to develop students' language capabilities, cross-cultural competence, and practical communication skills through immersive, interactive learning. Designed specifically to meet the needs of welfare school students, the project seeks to:
Enhance Language Proficiency: Provide a safe, dynamic environment where students can practice English and regional/foreign languages through interactive scenarios rather than traditional rote memorization.
Foster Cultural Awareness: Expose students to diverse global and regional cultures, encouraging empathy, open-mindedness, and an understanding of multicultural environments.
Develop Critical Life Skills: Engage learners in problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making activities embedded within the game mechanics to prepare them for higher education and future career pathways.
Equalize Educational Opportunities: Bridge the resource gap for rural and underprivileged students by introducing innovative, engaging educational tools that build competitiveness on both local and international levels.
Disadvantaged Youth: Students from low-income families, broken homes, or remote rural areas in Phattalung and nearby southern provinces.
Orphans or "At-Risk" Children: Children who have lost their parents, are under poor parental care, or are at high risk of falling into social issues (such as child neglect, poverty, or labor exploitation).
Enrollment Size: Like other Rajaprajanugroh schools, Rajaprajanugroh 65 Phattalung School typically hosts several hundred welfare students (ranging from primary to secondary levels) who live on campus as full boarders.
Volunteers will serve as intercultural facilitators and language supporters in the school community. Their main role is to help students practice English in a practical, enjoyable way while sharing their own cultures. Volunteers are not expected to replace professional teachers but to complement classroom learning through creative and interactive approaches.
