Smart orphans English camp 2013

Hello we are Peter, Alex, Tatiana and Roxane. We are long term volunteers in the peace village. For two weeks we joined a camp in Bangkok. We are going to tell you our amazing experience

We stayed in a military camp at the eleven infantry of the king guard. Eighty students from the three most dangerous provinces in Thailand join us. They come from Pattani, Yala and Narratiwat.

For two weeks we taught them songs, dance and about ASEAN community. We talked about the food, the national costumes and the information about the Aseans country.

The students learned a lot about how to live in community in the camp. We, the teachers also learned a lot. During those two weeks we created a powerful relationship and it was very hard for everybody to leave. Yes, all of us cried…

During the camp we worked in collaboration with four students from the Bangkok university. We relay enjoyed to work with them. We were a great team.

Twice we go out in Bangkok. We visited the "Sampran riverside" and the "Wat Phra Kaew temple" it was very joyfull to see the students happy to be there. All of us is going to keep a good memory of this English camp. We think it's very important to offer them this opportunity. As always said our friend Roong: "This camp was the most amazing camp of Thailand ever".

We just want to say thank you to all the people who help for this camp: ITRC, the Bangkok Post Foundation,  SCG, all the teacher, the staff and the students. We really hope that VSA can send again volunteers to such projects. Thank you.
