"Hi everybody!

We are the two French people who had the luck to spend one month in the Klonghae temple. During this month, we were English teacher at the primary school next to our temple. It was our first teaching and volunteering experience and to be short, we enjoyed it a lot. The children were very nice and curious like the other teachers. Many times we had lunch with them where we discovered the real Thai food.

We also gave English classes to local children and monks. It was the occasion to learn about their culture but also to introduce our culture to them. 

 Living in the temple was an occasion to attend different local ceremonies: King's birthday, funeral, Manola dance...

We also discovered the daily life of monks and local people.

As regards our accommodation, we stayed in a big dormitory which had everything we needed.

We would like to say a big thank you to Kong, our local "manager" in the temple. As a former monk, Kong shared with us his experience and knowledge about Buddhism and Thai culture. He also showed us the interesting points to see in the area : floating market, locals temples...

We really felt great during this month thanks to the kindness and generosity of everyone.
